Trip Descriptions

  • Bass Trips

During the summer months, bass fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee is the place to be. Trips run from beginning of may to Columbus day weekend. Starting in the spring and continuing through the end of summer we target smallmouth bass and largemouth bass from the boat. In the early spring, we target the pre-spawn and spawn of largemouth bass. They can be found up shallow where they are feeding up and getting ready for their spawn. Getting out and targeting bass this time of year can be very productive with the greatest opportunity to catch a big bass. After the spawn, bass can still be found in shallow water but disperse immensely during this time. This is when we make the switch to targeting smallmouth bass during the summer time. We transition out into deeper water as the water temps warm up, but early and late in the day we push in shallow water where the bass are feeding during key times. Smallmouth are extremely aggressive and acrobatic, and will feed consistently throughout the summer. Being out in the boat during the summer in the early morning and night provides great views and enjoyable experiences.

  • Ice Fishing

During the winter months, we fish out of the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee in the lakes region, where the lake offers an abundance of opportunity. Trips typically run from the second weekend in January through the end of March. During the wintertime we are targeting the best fish to catch through the ice, and that is the lake trout and rainbow trout. Early ice has the fastest action available for cold-water species like lake trout and rainbow trout, but remains steady all season long. If you have the chance to get out on the lakes before fishing pressure picks up, it's usually fast action and a great bite. The rainbow trout fishing remains great all season long, and catching rainbows on tip ups in shallow water provides a thrill unlike any other through the ice. Lake trout fishing usually starts off with a lot of action early on in the season and are a blast to catch jigging. Once the whole lake freezes over, we go target lakers offshore with the opportunity to get a big one. Fishing is usually steady but good. We occasionally target warm water species like pickerel, bass and perch. Come late ice when things start to warm up, the action fop these fish pick up and the possibility for a bigger fish does as well. Targeting pickerel is most effective using tip ups, whereas jigging for perch proves to be more effective. The winter is a great time to get out and go fishing, and provides an experience unlike any other.

We specialize in Run & Gun lake trout trips, where we hop from spot to spot chasing specifically lake trout with lures and jigs. These are the most intense trips as we do not usually set up shelter because we are moving so often, but these are often the most rewarding trips for anglers looking to get in on the lake trout action Winni provides.
